At the Haddonfield Lions Club, service is at the heart of everything we do. It’s why we’re so proud to share that our Dancing in the Dark program, which brings the joy of ballroom dancing to blind and visually impaired adults, has received national recognition from the Lions Clubs International.
This program began with a simple but powerful idea: to create a space where everyone can experience the joy and connection that comes from dancing. Today, we celebrate not just an award, but the community we’ve built and the lives we’ve touched.
As a club, we’re thrilled that Dancing in the Dark has been recognized at the national level. But this recognition isn’t just about us. It’s a call to Lions Clubs everywhere to imagine what’s possible in their own communities.
We hope this program becomes a model that others can replicate, bringing the joy of dance—and all the physical, emotional, and social benefits that come with it—to blind and visually impaired individuals across the country.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported Dancing in the Dark: our donors, volunteers, dance instructors, and, most importantly, our students. You’ve made this program what it is today, and together, we’ll continue to make a difference.
